She will be performing her work Sharp Nostalgia for bass clarinet and piano with her UMaine colleague Laura Artesani, at ClarinetFest in Baton Rouge, LA on August 2nd.
Her work for trumpet ensemble, Brass Rings, will be performed at the Schagerl Brass Festival this July, as the finale of Jack Burt’s recital, with a international group of performers.
While in residence at UMaine in November 2014, the ensemble loadbang will be performing a short work by Beth on a text by Robert, Earl of Essex, When silly bees could speak.
A new work for the AdZel Duo, Restless, will be premiered by that group in 2014.
Before the Snow, written for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, will be premiered in September 2014 on the fall “Made in Vermont” tour.
The Only Color I Have was performed at the Back Cove New Music Festival in Portland, ME on April 25. The cycle of 3 songs was premiered by Marcia Gronewold Sly, Karen Pendleton and Liz Downing in the spring of 2013, and was also performed by these musicians at the PARMA Music Festival/SCI conference in Portsmouth, NH on August 15, 2013.
A new work for clarinet and electronic sound, No Matter What, was premiered by Beth on January 31st, 2014 at Bates College.
Sallee and Rumsey at Mann Gulch, for bass trombone and video, was played by Dan Barrett at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford 2014, March 7th, as part of its “electric drama” session.
The “Agnus Dei” of a Mass for SATB chorus, 3 clarinets and piano was premiered in November, 2013 by the University Singers at UMaine’s Minsky Recital Hall. The “Sanctus” and “Kyrie” of this Mass were premiered last year by the Singers, on their spring tour and campus concerts.
A new string quartet, Minor Blasts, Some Flurries, was premiered by the Portland Chamber Music Festival at the SPACE Gallery in Portland on May 23rd, 2013. A version of the work for string quartet with video accompaniment is also completed.
